On Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the National Small Business Administration’s annual award ceremony held in Washington D.C., Marvel Manufacturing Company, Inc. co-owners Bob Beach, Jim Jourdan, and John Petek were presented the Wisconsin State Small Business Persons of the Year award. All 50 states including the Virgin Islands, Guam, and Puerto Rico were represented by their state winners. The three-day event included receptions for the state award winners at the State Department and the Capitol, highlighted by a White House reception in the East Wing with President George Bush.

Jack Fischer, Secretary of Commerce for the State of Wisconsin, presented a State of Wisconsin Technology Tax Credit to Marvel Manufacturing to assist with business growth and development. They now qualify for up to $250,000.00 in state tax credits if they can grow in employee base and new manufacturing technology. Marvel Mfg. has made a commitment to job growth in Wisconsin.

State helps finance upgrade at Marvel (WI Governor's Office) Marvel Manufacturing Co. will receive $250,000 in state Tech Zone tax credits to help pay for the installation of new equipment at its Oshkosh facility, the Commerce Department said today.
Marvel will create 43 new positions over five years and retain 125 full-time jobs. The installation represents an investment of more than $2 million.
"As we grow our business in the Oshkosh area, we remain committed to our first premise that we will remain the leader in metal cutting by means of offering the most technologically advanced product available in today's marketplace," said John Petek, CEO of Marvel, in a statement.
Marvel Manufacturing was formed in 2004 by three former metal manufacturing executives, James Jordan, John Petek and Robert Beach. The company makes metal-cutting machine tools, specializing in the manufacture of Marvel band saws.

Marvel Manufacturing Company Introduces Series 8 MARK III Marvel Manufacturing Company is proud to introduce the Marvel Series 8 Mark III, the latest version of the world’s most popular band saw. Other machines have tried but none have equaled the performance, flexibility and durability of this industry standard. New Spartan PA700HD Production Bandsaw Marvel Mfg. Co. has enhanced it’s Spartan line of production band saws with the addition of the Spartan Model PA700HD. This is a rugged twin post style machine features a 2.5 inch blade and a 15 HP motor. With a capacity of 28 x 32 inches it is easily able to handle large billets or bundles. The innovative vibration dampening system helps to reduce noise levels and extend blade life. This new model also comes standard with the new Zero Point Trim feature which automatically senses the bar end and positions incoming work pieces, eliminating the need for a trim cut. NEW PA460-HD Marvel Mfg. Co. is pleased to announce the latest addition to our Spartan production band saw line, the new PA460-HD. This is a rugged twin post machine specifically designed to cut specialty steels. This new model combines rigid construction, a 10 HP blade drive and enhanced coolant delivery. The innovative vibration dampening system helps to reduce noise levels extend blade life. The end result is a saw that delivers maximum cutting rates on tough to cut materials such as tool steel and stainless. The machine vise is a split front jaw design that holds material securely on both sides of the cut, while the automatic bar feed vise is designed to reduce remnant lengths to as little as 3 inches. New Spartan S330 with Hydraulic Vise Marvel Mfg. Co. has announced that their popular Spartan Model S330 Horizontal Band Saw is now available with hydraulic vising. The new Model S330HV features a hydraulic work holding vise in addition to other standard features such as a 12” x 18” capacity, miter cutting up to 60 degrees, automatic head return and free standing control console.
New Carbide Circular Saw Vacuum System A new vacuum system for use with carbide circular saws has been introduced by Marvel Mfg. Co. This innovative new design is specifically intended for cutting tubing. The vacuum removes the hardened chips from the center of the tube preventing damage to the carbide or cermet teeth, and significantly improving blade life. The positioning arm for the vacuum head is interfaced with the saw control which allows it to move into a preset position during the cut then pivot out of the way to allow the cut piece to exit the saw. This patented new approach to chip removal makes it possible to cut much wider range of tubing and related products using the fast, accurate high speed carbide technology
